The population joined up and was pervaded with an exasperated nationalism. Paradoxically, the defeat in the war led to the fall of the dictatorship, restoring democracy in the country. The documentary shows how the islands still represent an unresolved problem for Argentina, which considers them Argentineans by right. The same popular feeling is also incredibly shared by the thousands of veterans, who at the time were conscripts. The veterans are the very protagonists of the documentary. From Buenos Aires to the borders with Paraguay, the documentary gives vent to their stories, as well as to the disappointed hopes of a generation, the one of the “children of dictatorship”.
